Records
A record in the Session Editor represents a single utterance. Each record contains tier data for one speaker, including the orthographic transcription, IPA transcriptions, segment times, and any additional tiers.
Records are displayed sequentially in the transcript, each preceded by a record number on the left margin. The current record is indicated in the record toolbar at the top of the transcript.
Navigate Records
Use the record toolbar buttons or keyboard shortcuts to navigate between records:
- First record — Ctrl+Shift+P (macOS) / Alt+Shift+P (Windows)
- Previous record — Cmd+[
- Next record — Cmd+]
- Last record — Ctrl+Shift+N (macOS) / Alt+Shift+N (Windows)
- Go to record — Type the record number in the record field and press Enter
You can also click directly on any record in the transcript to navigate to it.
Add Record
To add a new record, click the + button in the record toolbar or press Cmd+N. The new record is inserted after the current record.
Duplicate Record
To duplicate the current record, click the duplicate button in the record toolbar or press Cmd+D. A copy of the current record is inserted after it.
Delete Record
To delete the current record, click the delete button in the record toolbar or press Cmd+Delete. A confirmation dialog will appear before the record is removed.
Copy, Cut, and Paste Records
- Copy record — Cmd+Shift+C
- Cut record — Cmd+Shift+X
- Paste record — Cmd+Shift+V
